This is a story that I'm working on thought up by Rage. Currently there are four chapters written and I will post them individually in topic chapters.

The USS Hellstorm was built during the time the Enteprise D was being constructed at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards orbiting Mars in the Sol system.. They where both fitted with a new type of warp core which was one of the most powerful in Starfleet, generating approximately 12.75 billion gigawatts of power. The warp core spanned twelve decks in the engineering hull. The deuterium tanks were above the core, while antimatter storage pods surrounded the base of the core on Deck 42. Both where fitted with the first Multi Vector assault Mode allowing for the saucer to completely detach from the secondary hull if situations required for it such as a high risk mission or to battle.
There were three impulse engines, originally installed two on the saucer section and one in the stardrive section. In early ships, only the impulse engine in the stardrive section was usually active. The impulse engines that were located on both sides of the saucer section were active when an emergency separation was in progress so that it could move to a safe distance away from the main critical stardrive section during a core breach. The Galaxy-class was equipped with ten phaser banks, distributed in phaser arrays at various points along both hulls. One array was located on the dorsal of the battle section and could only be used following a separation. There were also fore and aft torpedo launchers on the engineering section. When the Enterprise D and Hellstorm were built it was in a time of peace for the Federation where the main goal of Starfleet was to explore space. At the time Kenneth was the rank of Lt. Commander and was a energetic new officer that just recently got his new promotion a year after graduating from Starfleet Academy, and was proud to be aboard. The Hellstorm was later called in to defend Sector 001 during the battle of Wolf 359, and was left badly damaged. Captain John Edwards was killed by extensive third degree plasma burns when he and the cheif engineer tried to seal a coolant breach from the main warp core. The Hellstorm was towed back to space dock which layed over for months waiting for extensive repair work to be done. Commander Richard Baker who was origianlly commander of the Hellstorm received a promotion to command the USS Lakota, as Lt. Commander Kenneth recieved a promotion directly to captain the USS Hellstorm due to the outstanding record with Startfleet, and courageous excellence during the battle at Wolf 359. When the Dominion declared war with the Federation, the Hellstorm was put back into spacedock for a refit after the loss of the USS Odyssey. She received a new shield generator with a recharge rate of 50.3 seconds. Upgrades to the propulsion systems were tested in 2377 aboard the Hellstorm as the ship received a new warp core manufactured with interphase technology and a major overhaul of the nacelles was also conducted that year. The science stations where taken out and turn into tactical and auxiliary control rooms she was also upgraded with 300 quantum torpedoes and 400 photon torpedoes. Non essential rooms and space that were normally used for extra crew quarters for families and other personnel where removed from the Hellstorm. The refit took over 4 weeks and was shipped out on the following week. The Hellstorm later participated in the 7th tatical fleet during the domionion war near the edge of cardassian space which she recieved the highest commendations for sucessfully testing out the new upgrades in the mist of battle and survived fairly well.
After the war Starfleet decided to decommision the Hellstorm which in turn lead Captain Kenneth to the head of Starflett R&D where he held serious discussions with them into using the Hellstorm as a test bed for new weapons, shields and for the latest warp core design recently developed. The new systems and tatical upgrades that the Hellstorm received were crucial for the development of the Starfleet’s new ship class design with upgrades to be fitted onto the Hellstorm. Twenty Type 12 phaser arrays each array fired a steady beam of phaser energy and the forced-focus emitters discharge the phasers at speeds approaching .986c. Current Tactical policy has phaser arrays automatically rotate phaser frequency and attempt to lock onto the frequency and phase of a threat vehicle's shields for shield penetration., new dynamical warp pylons and warp engines. The torpedo inventory and guidance sytems were overhauled and she was equipped with 400 micro photon torpedos and 300 micro quantum torpedoes. She was also equipped with 100 of Starfleets new and successfully tested transphasic topedoes, if that wasnt enough Starfleet also wanted to upgrade her forward section with phase cannon emitters that were located on both sides near the bridge. The saucer section was also fitted with a self sustainning warp core that was operational when MVAM was engaged. New upgraded regenerative shielding was also installed that allowed the ship to sustain a brutal attack for a longer periods of time before the shields began to weaken. The pride of Starfleets R&D was the experimental slipstream drive which was still in its testing phase and operational but they also warned that the slipstream drive was due to fail every now and then due to mechanical and technical bugs that still needed to be worked out. Starfleet had given the go order to go ahead and install the slipstream drive into the Hellstorm as part of the test bed experiment.
